Windhoek, Namibia's capital, nestles among rolling hills, bounded by the Eros Mountains in the east, the Auas Mountains in the south and the Khomas Hochland in the west. It is a meeting place between Africa and Europe, the modern and the old. In the capital's main street, well-preserved German colonial buildings are in sharp contrast with modern architectural styles. There are plenty of varied accommodation venues available to the visitor. Hotels have a very special ambience that generates from this historic town and provide a service that is very desirable. Guest Houses and bed and breakfasts offer that home away from home feeling, for the budget accommodation there is camping sites and backpackers. Small towns are dotted throughout the Central region and include Rehoboth hot springs 90km south of the capital, Khomas Hochland's rolling hills westwards of the Windhoek valleys and majestic camel thorn savannas of the Omaheke region in the east. Accommodation venues are easily found in these small towns and are very friendly and homely.
