Kwazulu Natal, referred to as KZN or Natal, is home to the Zulu Kingdom and is one of South Africa's most popular destinations.
Running along the warm Indian Ocean, Natal has a long shoreline that’s punctuated with some of the most idyllic beaches and bays in South Africa. The subtropical climate and lush vegetation, with valleys of dense forest, coupled with these coves and seaside gems, makes KZN an ideal holiday destination.
Culturally fascinating and with so much history that is unique to the region, KZN boasts a distinct medley of truly South African aspects with it’s own special flavour. The capital city of Pietermaritzburg and the popular seaside getaway, Durban, are just two of the interesting and diverse cities in KZN.
Kwazulu Natal’s natural wonders are amongst some of the finest in the country and KZN is home to two UNESCO World Heritage sites- iSimangaliso Wetland Park on the east coast and the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park.
iSimangaliso Wetlands Park was South Africa’s first World Heritage Site, and has one of the largest estuary systems in Africa. iSimangaliso means ‘something wondrous’ in Zulu, which perfectly describes what the wetlands have in store.
In the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park you’ll find towering mountain ranges, the highest south of Kilimanjaro, and the largest concentration of rock art on the continent, created more than 4 000 years ago by the indigenous San people.
Whether it’s self catering accommodation in Ballito or a beach hotel in Durban, accommodation in KZN offers a diverse range of quality venues that will keep you coming back. Let the impressive array of accommodation in Kwazulu Natal wow you this holiday- the perfect basecamp for the multitude of activities the coastal province has to offer!

What a beautiful Lodge, excellent service (5 star), location is one of the best in this country. We received outstanding service from a team that exceeded every need we had as a family. The breakfast is outstanding and they catered for my children's needs which included items not on the normal breakfast menu.
