The Bazaruto Island is a region consisting of Five Islands, namely Bazaruto, Magaruque, Santa Carolina, Benguera (or Benguerra) and Bangue, each breathtaking in its own unique way.
This sandy island is the largest island in Mozambique and it is situated on the southeast of the Save River. The sightseeing opportunities existing in the Bazaruto Archipelago are almost endless. Large sand dunes overlook freshwater lakes, which are nesting grounds for massive flocks of black-winged flamingos. The islands are home to Samango monkeys, small herds of red duiker antelope and even a few freshwater crocodiles. The Archipelago, famed for its warm waters, is internationally renowned as one of the world’s prime diving destinations.
Adventure seekers who spend their days snorkelling in its clear blue waters are likely to rub shoulders with turtles, dolphins and rare dugongs dwelling within its depths. Bazaruto offers a multitude of delights for the avid fisherman, both in terms of big game fishing and surf fishing. There are numerous opportunities for bird-watching and wildlife viewing: Whether you visit the fresh water lakes and the sand dunes, or the grasslands and swamps, viewing possibilities abound. The impressive beauty of the surrounding coral reefs is enriched by the diversity of the tropical fish, which abound in this sub-tropical ecosystem.
The Bazaruto Island accommodation is exceptional. These islands have numerous upmarket lodges and hotels that provide for a memorable holiday experience. The accommodation in Bazaruto Island guarantees that guests will want to return to these islands – to the idyllic scenery and beautiful landscape that they fall in love with as soon as they arrive.

The breakfast is outstanding and they catered for my children's needs which included items not on the normal breakfast menu.
