Worcester is a small but lively city in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is located just over a 100 km north-east of Cape Town. Worcester is also situated in the in the popular Breede River Valley, where it is surrounded by a range of majestic and lush mountains.
The town developed in the early days of Cape history, mainly because it was a hunter’s paradise with vast opportunities for game and wild-bird hunting. It was then formerly established as a town in the 1920’s, and slowly became a farming town. The town also forms part of one of the Cape’s wine routes, The Cape Winelands.
