Laingsburg is a small suburb in the Karoo. The suburb is approximately 280 km away from Cape Town, and is just off the N1 highway which runs through the great Karoo.
The suburb is well known for the flood that affected the suburb in early 1981, leaving only 21 buildings standing. The flood has left behind layers of fossilized mudstones varying in coloring and has become somewhat a geological wonderland. There is a guided geological walk on the Geelbeksbrug farm, which runs for about 12km, and as the Blockhouse Route due to its proximity to the Anglo-Boer War Blockhouse, a must see for those intrigued by South African history.

What a beautiful Lodge, excellent service (5 star), location is one of the best in this country. We received outstanding service from a team that exceeded every need we had as a family. The breakfast is outstanding and they catered for my children's needs which included items not on the normal breakfast menu.
