Jwaneng is a small town situated in the Southern District of Botswana.
The town was formed around the Jwaneng diamond mine which was considered the richest mining area in the world in regards to its content of gem-quality diamonds. The mine has supports the nearby Jwana Game Park. The game park is home to a vast amount of indigenous wildlife species, excluding the large predators. However there is a Cheetah Conservation Botswana field unit in the park. In 2007 two white rhinos were introduced into the park from the Khama Rhino Sanctuary.
