Outjo is a city in Namibia, and is considered to be the main gateway to the Etosha National Park. The name Outjo means ‘little hills’ in the local Herero language. The ton is the largest settlement you’ll find in close proximity to the popular Etosha National park. Outjo is fairly big, and has all necessary facilities, although it’s a far cry from the resources you’ll find in a place like Windhoek.

Close to Outjo is the Gamkarab Cave, with is quite popular. The Cave has distinctive stalactites and stalagmites, which makes for an interesting visit. Outjo is located in the Kunene region of Namibia, known for its population of Himba. The main attractions in Outjo, besides for the Etosha National Park is the Ugab Vingerklip as well as the Petrified Forest. The latter witch claims to have trees that are thousands of years old.
