The Cederberg is the rocky, 100 km long range mountains that rises splendidly above the vineyards and citrus groves of the Oliphant’s River valley The Maltese Cross The mountains are a magnet for hikers, climbers and lovers of the nature. Main access is via the road east from a point 30 km’s beyond Citrusdal, which take you over the Niewoudt Pass - fine views along the way - to the peaceful and most attractive Algeria forest station. 250 km network o paths enable you to explore the wilderness area with relative ease, but do make sure you go out armed with a forestry map showing the routes.
