Moon Gazing Cabin is a rustic, electricity-free cottage in Mount Bain Private Nature Reserve. This secluded mountain hideaway overlooks two rivers, a tranquil retreat set amongst fynbos and endemic bird life. The self-catering cabin has two bedrooms, a living room with a huge indoor fireplace that can be used for cooking as well as a huge stoep that is well protected from the elements. It is an ideal getaway all year round. The self-catering cabin has two bedrooms, one with double bed and a sleeper couch and the other with two single beds. The bathroom has a flush toilet, shower and basin. You need to bring your own bedding and towels. The living room has a huge indoor fireplace, that can be used for cooking. The fully equipped kitchenette has a gas fridge and hot plates. The gas geyser supplies hot water. Ice can be purchased from the Calabash Bush Pub below. You need to bring your own fire wood and consumables. Please do not feed the baboons or leave food outside we would like to keep the baboons wild and away from the human visitors. Close the doors and windows when you are not there. We do not allow pets, as the cabin is in a nature reserve.

Mount Bain in Bainskloof is a 900 hectare private nature reserve nestled in the picturesque Breedekloof Valley. The craggy mountain ranges, fynbos, endemic bird life and small game, attract plenty of hikers and nature lovers. In summer you can swim in the river and in winter watch the snow capped peaks from infront of the fire in the cosy cabin. Situated only 90 minutes' drive from Cape Town, the Breedekloof offers many fine wineries and restaurants.

Moon Gazing Cabin is 30km from Worcester, 25km from Ceres and 14km from Wolsley. It is situated in Mount Bain Private Nature Reserve, at the Wolsley end of Bainskloof pass. Turn in at the Calabash Bush Pub, go through the boom into the reserve and drive up the steep cement road, which makes a turn to the left. Continue until you get to a white wooden pole in front of you and turn sharp right, carry on straight for about 50m to get to the cabin.
