HOEDSPRUIT – For true Lowveld relaxation you need to go no further than Khaya Ndlovu Manor House, situated in the pristine 15 000ha Blue Canyon Conservancy a mere 7km from Hoedspruit on the R40 towards Klaserie. What gives Khaya Ndlovu the edge over the myriad of other Lowveld accommodation establishments here in Big 5 country, is that you are the boss of your own entertainment schedule. At this 5 bedroom colonial style manor house, there is no such thing as a wake-up call for a compulsory twice daily game drive that hikes up the price of your stay. No, the focus is on utter relaxation with you deciding what activities you want to do when. To start the relaxation process, the outdoor area offers the ideal opportunity. Even while indoors, you are greeted by magnificent natural scenes be it either the well established colonial style gardens or the Northern reaches of the Drakensberg Mountain range. The promise of relief from the Lowveld heat and humidity is materialised in the cool depths of the swimming pool overlooking the water hole visited by various bird and game species in the savanna setting. A sundowner has never tasted quite as good as it does on the pool deck overlooking the Lowveld scene below! Activities ranging from Big 5 game drives in the nearby Thornybush Game Reserve to micro light flights and in-house spa treatments can be arranged upon request to suit your needs. Meals at Khaya Ndlovu Manor House are certainly an event to look forward to. Your chef, Charles Mandebvu, is a seasoned expert in the art of making good food great and each meal speaks of creativity with a mix of traditional South African food and contemporary cooking. Charles boasts with a large repertoire of vegetarian dishes to meet even the most challenging requests and prefers working with fresh produce rather than frozen food stuffs as ‘the flavours are just so much better’ he says. All of the above also makes Khaya Ndlovu Manor House the most perfect venue for an intimate bush wedding, in style of course. The house itself offers a wealth of interior scenes to satisfy just about every indoor photography need. Yet the outside area offers even more photographic opportunities ranging from formal landscaped garden shots to African memory backdrops with the Drakensberg Mountain range as focal point. Khaya Ndlovu Manor House offers a full wedding package with everything including wedding planning to securing competent, local service providers right through to the newly weds’ wedding night expectations for a romantic setting.
