Okaukuejo is situated at the southern centre of the Park and is the oldest establishment in Etosha. It houses the Etosha Ecological Institute from where research and conservation management is conducted. The unique attraction of this resort is that it overlooks a permanent waterhole that is floodlit at night, giving tourists an experience to see some of the shy, nocturnal wildlife such as elephants, lions and black rhinos,etc. Accommodation is available in fully equipped and en-suite luxury and standard bungalows. All rooms have airconditioning. Camping sites with Communal ablution and barbecue facilities are available. Services include a big restaurant where guests can enjoy an african served buffet, bar, kiosk, tourist shop, gym facilities, swimming pool, filling station, unguided game drives around the Etosha park for a unique african wildlife experience.
