The 10,000 acre estate has a natural beauty that is virtually unsurpassed. With a lovely landscaped garden, numerous hiking trails, and splendid vistas of Mt Etjo at the doorstep, one can become lost in space and time…no red lights, no shops, no petrol within 75 km! “Omaha” in the Herero language means "the place where one can live". Mt Etjo, standing over 2000 meters in height, is a “sister mountain” to the famed Waterberg Plateau/National Park lying 120 km to the NW. They share a similar geological history and are capped to a depth of 70 meters with the distinguishing red “Etjo sandstone” formed during millions of years of severe desert conditions. Mt Etjo harbors several protected species including Hartmann’s Mt. Zebra, Damara Dik-dik, Leopard and Klipspringer. OMAHA has a number of other wild free-ranging species such as Kudu, Oryx, Cheetah, and Bat-eared fox. Seasonally, over 250 bird species occur, including waterfowl. RATES For short-term guests, OMAHA has 5 double bedrooms with private bathrooms that can sleep up to 12-14 persons. Rates include DINNER, Bed & Breakfast. Meals (1) typically feature fresh vegetables from the garden and venison prepared in the traditional Namibian-farm manner and (2) are served family style. Vegetarian (free) and Halal (slight premium) dishes are available upon request. The OMAHA estate is now being offered for extended stays, weddings, other special or private occasions, and as a “holiday home”, either self catering or with kitchen & house cleaning staff. You may bring your own provisions, or we will stock the pantry, refrigerator and bar for you. Lodge bookings for extended stays are for a minimum of 5 days and three bedrooms (Pool Room, Cheetah Room, & African Room). Both the Tower Room and Gecko Room (exterior to the Lodge) may be included. OMAHA is conveniently located 2 hours NW of Windhoek en route to/from a number of Namibia's primary tourism destinations: Etosha and Waterberg National Parks, Damaraland, Bushmanland, Kavango Region and the Caprivi Strip. Located nearby are the Erindi Game Lodge, Omaruru Game Lodge, Mt Etjo Safari Lodge, Dinosaur Footprints, Okonjima Lodge/Africat Foundation, and Cheetah Conservation Fund.

OMAHA is located off highway B1, the main route leading northwards from Windhoek, a short two hours away. Travel 93 km N of Okahandja (or 83 km S of Otjiwarongo) on B1, then turn West on D2404 and drive 35 km to Lodge on right (-21.13306 S x 16.52549 E). Alternately, travel East from Omaruru for 60 km on D2329 (past the Omaruru Game Lodge), then take D2404 for 15 km to OMAHA Lodge on left.
