Lovedale Farm Holidays gives you the most affordable self-catering accommodation and luxury camping in the Helmeringhausen area. Come and enjoy a relaxed and affordable stay on the oldest commercial farm in Namibia still in the same family(since 1854). Farming is still our main activity and therefor you can experience an active sheep farm on a daily basis. We have 3 self-catering cottages, fully equipped with bed linen, fridge, stove and everything you need in the kitchen. Each cottage has its own BBQ-place. The Bateleur cottage can sleep 2-3 people with one double bed and a single bed. The Black Eagle can sleep 4 people with one double bed and two single beds. The Martial Eagle can sleep 4-6 people with two 3/4 beds, two single beds and one bunker bed. All cottages have beautiful views over the farm and trees for shade alongside and in front of the cottages. The bathrooms are all equipped with hot showers, toilets and wash basins. The Black Eagle cottage is also wheelchair friendly. All equipment in the kitchens work with gas and electricity is solar powered 12V lights. For the cold winter evenings all cottages are equipped with a gas heater in the kitchen. All cottages are also equipped with private safes for your valuables like purses and jewelery. Our campsites are equipped with 12V lights and 220V electricity-plugs are avialable at extra cost, water(which is tested and drinkable), BBQ-area and a lot of shade. Hot showers, flush toilets and washing up facilities for clothes and crockery are available. We are currently busy building a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast facility which will be able to accommdate 6 people at a time (three double rooms) and this will be open to the public early in 2010.

Two hiking trails, the Aloe trail which is a 45 minute walk near the farm stead and the Kudu trail (currently in process of development) which will be a two day hike of +- 15km of beautiful scenery and game and bird viewing oppurtunities on the way with a sleepover cottage for maximum five people where everything will be provided in the cottage and luggage will be taken there after your first days’ walk - this means you only walk with your daypack (water and refreshments). Karakul farming information tour and a farm drive if booked in advance. Excellent stargazing and bird watching oppurtunities ( during one day in March 2009 a birdwatcher spotted 24 different bird species in one facinity in about 1.5 hours’ time). Participating in farming activities if staying for two or more days at no extra cost.

Lovedale is situated 19 km west of Helmeringhausen on the C27 road to Sossusvlei. A nice stopover on your way to either Sossusvlei (300km), Fish River Canyon (300 km) or L?deritz (235 km). No farm road has to be travel as we are just next to the main road. We can thus be reached with any type of vehicle.
