BD lodge is an exclusive private lodge on Bartholomeu Dias Point, boasting long stretches of white unspoilt beaches. This tropical paradise is situated in Inhassoro, in the province of Inhambane. The lodge consists of several sea or river facing chalets, built on stilts, leading onto lit up boardwalks which wind between exquisite mangroves. The chalets, restaurant and bars are built with local traditional materials and all provide panoramic views of the sea, BD Island and the lagoon. Chalets provide for self catering and full restaurant facilities will also be available, but is under construction at the moment. Days can be spent lounging by the pool, taking river cruises on a boat or dhow, or going on day trips to the nearby BD Island where a seafood lunch can be enjoyed. BD lodge offers many activities including snorkeling, paddle skiing, wind surfing, water skiing and bird watching. The BD Point area provides for excellent fishing, which can be done from the lagoon, shore, skis or deep sea. The waters are home to a large variety of spectacular fish, such as King and Queen Mackerel, Kingfish, Marlin, Sailfish, Barracuda and many more. Transport is available to and from Vilanculous Airport. We will collect you and take you along the beach to our wonderful lodge. BD Lodge is situated in an environmentally protected area. Please take note that quad bikes and jet skis are not allowed at BD Point as this is a sensitive area where turtles have been found. BD Lodge, being located right next to the beach, offers all these activities in abundance; a Robinson Crusoe adventure in the lap of luxury on the Mozambique Coast! Enjoy strolling for miles on a clean, sandy beach, watch the local fisherman as they wrest a living from the ocean and see how they go about repairing their boats. Birders will delight in the flocks of sea birds. A short stroll in the bush will lead to the discovery of a few unusual species of birds. At the end of a full day's activities, take a plunge in our pool, enjoy a sundowner in the bar and have a tasty Mozambican seafood bonanza. All non-motorised sports are free of charge, except for fishing skis. Snorkeling and diving can be arranged at the nearby Paradise and Bazaruto Islands.
