Situated on Africa’s East Coast, Mozambique is a country of endless pristine beaches and superb, largely untouched natural heritage.
Before 1975, Mozambique was a hugely popular tourism destination for Southern Africa and international visitors. A 17 year long civil war then broke out, which finally came to an end in 1992, with the first democratic elections held in 1994. The people of Mozambique are now hard at work rebuilding their beautiful country. Their passion is evident in every greeting smile.
Macaneta is situated 35km north of Maputo and is a peninsula bordered on the west side by the Ncomati river and the Indian ocean on the east side.
Here, our diligent, friendly Mozambique staff will assist you with all your camping needs, greets you. Our camp consists of 22 large campsites. All campsites are well shaded and are only a few meters off the beach. Each campsite is supplied with a braai and a water point, with some campsites an electrical plug point. We are proud of our reputation in the eradication of mosquitoes as we are not aware of any of our guests or staff contracting malaria since our existence and we do extermination on a daily basis. We also have 2 x tented chalets equipped for 4 persons. Electricity is generated from 18:00 to 22:00, but can be extended if required (at a price!).
Our ablution facilities are of the highest standard you could find in Africa, our rating is a definite 5 star and are awaiting your confirmation. Hot and cold water in abundance and cleanliness is our motto.
We are very proud of our latest addition, a sparkling swimming pool surrounded by lush lawns and palm trees where you can chill and relax.
